"The Story of a Square"
Today, March 11th, we recieved the first brief for Animation and Motion Design-Year 1. It requires a ten second animation, including sound and audio, for which a black square is both the starting point and ending point. At a frame rate of 25fps, the finished piece must show the ability to create and illustrate a narrative, while incorporating sound design and embracing new skills. The deadline is Friday, March 22nd, so this is a two week project.
Therefore, I began today by mind mapping a few different ideas which could evolve from this black square and after a short analysis, I picked the one which I thought was most suited to the brief. I then created a detailed storyboard, which will be of great assistance while I create the animation on "Adobe Flash Professional", a program I both dread and look forward to using.
